Responsible authority is Kronoberg Association of Local Authorities. Energikontor Sydost is mainly active in the counties of Kalmar and Kronoberg but has also certain activities in the counties of Blekinge and Jönköping. Collaboration takes place with other energy agencies in Sweden via FSEK (Associsation of Swedish Regional Energy Agencies) and in particular with the energy agencies in Skåne and Halland.

Energikontor Sydost has twelve employees with offices in Växjö and Oskarshamn. The agency was established under the SAVE-programme in the spring of 1999.

Aims and Objectives

Energikontor Sydost shall work for increased energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy in the whole energy sector at a local, regional and European level. We shall contribute to the increased awareness of energy and environmental issues in a long term perspective.

Other strong driving forces are more efficient use of energy and the introduction of renewable energy. These aims and objectives shall permeate all our work to achieve a change for a long-term sustainable society.

Energikontor Sydost shall serve as a resource for mutual contacts within the region, between different regions in Sweden and with Europe and the EU. We shall also be a resources basis for municipalities and enterprises within the energy field in the counties of Kalmar and Kronoberg.

Project and Core Activities

Energikontor Sydost works within the whole energy sector with the production, distribution and use of energy not only for enterprises and organisations but also for the private and public sector. The work is managed in projects in collaboration with local, regional, national and last but not least EU partners with for example:

Renewable energy such as bio energy, wind and solar energy

Energy efficiency in enterprises, housing and premises

Third Party Financing and ESCO’s models for change-over work

Schools and education, changes of behaviour

Transport sector with Mobility management, goods for railway and car pools

Social planning and energy issues, environment goals and information activities
